We've been using the Emperor for about 3 months now. This is one of evolve's better shower heads, but I'm really not that impressed. While the 6" spray area is an improvement over my old 4", this one offers mostly hollow cone spray settings which are not very soothing. The spray adjuster is hard to click in place - I have to take it down to click the adjuster - you need to hold the handle tight in order to rotate the head (I'm only 5'-2"). It also bothers me that the head is a light-weight plastic - the kind that might crack if you let it hit the tile wall. The tubing is very rigid - it wedges between the wall and the holder, actually causing the shower head to rotate. It's a minor nuisance to adjust the head location each time. Water pressure is good. The automatic shut-off feature while the water is warming up is useful - you know when the water is warm when the flow stops and that saves some water. It still trickles a bit. This feature is probably not that useful unless your shower takes 5 or more minutes to warm up like ours, which is on the remote end of the house from the water heater. One problem that I hadn't expected is that when the water turns off, it immediately starts to cool off. (This could be a Texas phenomenon, since our piping is run under-slab and often uninsulated). When I re-start the shower flow even two minutes after it shut off, the water is cool and I need to wait several minutes for it to warm up again. When I consider all of these criticisms, I can't give this product the rave review I would have liked.
Update: This fell apart within 6 months - the adjustment piece snapped off. The darn thing is plastic! The manufacturer was quick to send a replacement, but the hose has crimped where my water filter attaches and it's leaking quite a bit. I'm going to keep the part that causes the flow to shut off when it heats up and buy a more durable head. This turned out to be an expensive experiment...

Taking your shower never felt so good. Replace your existing shower head with the Evolve brushed nickel Emperor handheld shower head and you'll start saving water and energy while making your mornings more convenient. Instead of conserving water while you're taking a shower, the Emperor's ShowerStart technology saves the hot water that's wasted before you actually get in. The result - save time, hot water, energy and money without giving up a single thing. How it works: When you turn on the hot water and the cold water runs out, you can multi-task while waiting without wasting hot water. Shave, brush teeth, use washroom, make bed, grab phone, start coffee... while waiting for your shower to get warm without wasting hot water. The Emperor cuts flow to a trickle once water is warm so it's not running down the drain while you're away. The flow is lowered to a trickle when water reaches 95 degrees bathing temperature. That drip, drip lets you know your shower's warm and waiting. When you are ready, normal flow is restarted by pulling down on the included pull cord. The elegant Emperor handheld shower head allows the maximum flow rate allowed by law. At 2.5 gallons per minute, you can enjoy a luxurious shower knowing you are saving money with ShowerStart technology. This sophisticated 9 function handheld shower integrates ShowerStart technology with every spray pattern imaginable standard, fast, massage, champagne, mist and numerous combinations - the possibilities are endless. If this isn't enough to wet your appetite for perfection wait until you wrap your fingers around the soft-touch side grips - you'll never let this instrument go.
