(More customer reviews)I just installed this shower head/hose, tried it, and put back the old Water Pik head.
For a flow-restricted head, the "feel" of the shower is just fine. There's enough pressure to give you a stimulating shower, wash shampoo out of your hair, etc., and there's enough volume to convey the warmth of the water -- the heat doesn't get lost in a too-fine spray. The three pattern selections are center/high pressure, medium-pressure ring, and a center/ring mix of higher volume, lower pressure. The high pressure setting has a nice sting to it and concentrates the stream. The ring setting is general-purpose, but strong enough to stimulate your scalp. The lower pressure combined setting wasn't too useful unless you just want to have a low pressure drenching. There is no pulsating or massage setting.
Installation is easy and all of the necessary washers are supplied, as well as some Teflon tape to seal the connection to the wall pipe. The unit is well made, mostly chromed plastic, but a nice quality feel. The hose is rather stiff and I couldn't make it lay against the wall.
We have a standard four-foot shower stall. The Moen bracket grips the head at the bottom of the handle, which puts the head much higher than the Water Pik. The ball adjustment has a limited range of motion, so the spray hits the bottom of the far wall. It's impossible to aim it any closer to the center of the shower stall. As a result, you have to stand in the farthest third of the stall, which I found somewhat inconvenient. The greater height and downward angle would make it more difficult for people who want to shower without washing their hair.
This is a nice unit, but it doesn't work for our shower stall and pipe configuration.
