(More customer reviews)I've been on a quest to find a shower head that uses around 1.8GPM of water (instead of the typical 2.5GPM) but still gives a strong spray with lower than average water pressure.
This particular model by Oxygenics is very nicely designed, attractive looking, and installs easily. The package includes an ample supply of Teflon tape, which you'll need on the spout threads and on the 9" arm threads. In all, it took me about 15 minutes to put this shower head into place and it works without leaks.
The spray, however, is lacking when there is low water pressure. This is quite a disappointment. I was expecting that Oxygenics's "innovative self pressurizing technology" would really do the trick. I then removed this shower head and installed it at my parent's house where they have very good water pressure. It works well there. The jets are reasonably powerful, enough to rinse your hair pretty well (not enough to feel "invigorating" or a "pressurized monsoon", as the manufacturer claims). Also, this unit is LOUD! If you like to listen to the radio when you shower, be prepared to turn up the volume. I have a radio on a nearby shelf and I had to turn it up quite a bit to hear anything.
Again, I strongly recommend you have good water pressure if you're going to get this unit. And you're OK with the increase in noise. It's nicely made and the adjustable 9" arm gives you plenty of flexibility on how you want to aim the water.
